Super Simple Pocket Scarf

This project is easy enough for a beginner.  Choose your yarn and select a hook which allows you to work comfortably.   Make it a bit wider to cover the shoulders as a narrow shawl.  This is a great gift for anyone needing to ward of winter chills.  Pockets can be used to warm the hands or to hold small sundries such as tissues, glasses, or gloves.

 Lobster Trap Scarf

With Fishnet Trim

Created with a fingering weight yarn, this lightweight scarf was inspired by the weathered lobster traps which pile up on the fishing docks of the northern New England coast line.

Approximately 300 yards of a fingering or sock weight yarn should be suffiicient to create a 60" scarf.  Yarn substitutions are easy so that the crcoheter can customize scarf.

(Note:  Pattern revision made 2/24/2009. Please download latest version for corrected pattern)

My thanks to my pattern tester Pat for testing the pattern for me and for creating a pair of matching fingerless gloves.  If you would like to make  a pair to go with your scarf,  please
